Common Issues

Timing

Our most commonly rebuilt engines are the N47 & N57 BMW diesel engines. The most common cause of damage with both these engines is timing chain failure, as part of our engine rebuilds the full timing kit is replaced as standard during the rebuild process.

Oil Pump

The oil pump is another common issue, this due to a blocked oil pickup pipe. An important step in our rebuilds is to replace this component.

BMW engine repair

Crankshaft

Another possible but less common failure with these engines is the crankshaft. If required a complete bottom end rebuild will be carried out along with the standard change of engine bearings.
